The Letter H FEB. 1, 2007

i heard someone say the word orangutan today which made me think of a teacher i had in high school. no, i didn't think of her because she looks like a monkey, but that woman could not pronounce the word.

we were reading some story with the words huge, humid, and orangutan in it. i pronounce huge & humid with the H sound. i know it's ok to pronounce them with the U sound, but i hate that. my teacher constantly said the UGE HORANGATAN or it was a UMID day when the HORANGATAN escaped, or whatever. LADY, you're killin me. i'd get so darn annoyed every time. do you see an H in front of orangutan? no. do you see an H in front of humid? yes. GET IT RIGHT.

yeah, that's my story. awesome, wasn't it? i just remember how frustrated i'd get with that woman and when i heard the word today, the memories flooded back. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. thank God that's over.
