work is going really well so far- i'm learning so so much & starting to understand everything i need to know. i've met 4 of my 6 kids - some are def. going to be challenging, but some are just going to be a hilarious blast. i'll end up with 15 to 20 in my full caseload in the next couple months. should be interesting. pretty sure i'm going to love it.
i really like the other girls in my Easter Seals Richland/Lexington County group- they are too much fun. one of them is 38 and used to be an actress in L.A. she had a recurring role on the original beverly hills 90210 & she's done a lifetime movie. too funny. they've all been so helpful to me- love the support : )
this weekend i was asked to puppy-sit for a CUUUUTIE named gizmo- he's the sweetest little baby. the house i'm staying in is so nice- the dad is a brain surgeon, so yeah. i've been playing the kids' Wii a lot- mario party 8 is my jam. i also plugged in the high school musical karaoke microphone & played that one. i'd just laugh aloud at the puppy looking at me in this huge house singing dead serious to HSM songs to get good "grades" so i could unlock new characters & songs. of course it was on 1 player & it had me singing zac efron's parts which i don't know. shoot, i'm a girl, i sing the girl harmonies, so i kept getting C's because i was singing gabriella's parts. ha. i finally figured out how to change it to the girl parts so i could start doing better. ha. i was just waiting for the family to come home early from the mountains & walk in to that scene.
friday nite i put the puppy in his crate for a few hours & headed to the fair with one of my best friends, mr. patrick crawford. he came in town from clemson to fair it up with me. i was so excited to meet his girlfriend for the 1st time, too. she rocks and we had so much fun. joe stillwell called to say he was coming through columbia & i told him to meet us there. i lost my voice screaming on the zipper, my favorite, & of course the crazy mouse, another favorite, and the starship 3000- not a favorite. they made me ride it, but i survived. joe said needtobreathe had recorded several new demos for their 3rd album & he was excited about them. sweeeet- i can't wait to hear them sometime.
in other news...
-bought underoath tickets for next weekend & i'm pumped about the show.
-the gamecocks beat kentucky but it was the stupidest game i've ever seen.
-i'm going to the fair probably 2 or 3 more times... at least
-can't decide what i want to cook for the potluck dinner tuesday nite.
-so excited about the baptism service coming up- this will be the 1st one i've ever been to at midtown.
-still trying to figure out halloween costumes
-went skating last weekend & actually made it around 3 or 4 times going backwards! also worked on my twirls & spins. boy do i love skating.
-went to a friend's yard sale & came out with 3 pairs of rad shoes & lots of tops, sweatshirts & a jacket for an amazing price.
-about to sponser my 1st child- finally!
-loving life, as always
