goodness it's been a while. this job leaves me no time for carefree blogging, but i'm gonna take a minute & give an update on what's been going on with me lately...
-high school musical 3 is my jam. i don't care what you say, it's great. i've seen it twice & i wanna go again. and what?
-i went to a wedding & it officially won for best reception food ever: shrimp & grits, mashed potato bar, bbq, pork tenderloin, chocolate fountain, chicken strips, all the usual "wedding reception regulars," beer, etc. i think i gained 800lbs.
-i had jury duty & my supervisor wrote me a letter to try to get out of it for the week. i figured i'd walk in, give them my letter, & walk out in 5- 10 mins. well 3 hours later i was still sitting in the holding area going crazy. a police man walked in & asked us to watch some video made in the 70s about being a juror & i saw my dad's cousin acting in it & laughed aloud. i got in trouble with the police man- "maam, is something funny?" it was awesome. then he tells us how strict the judge is & that all men must tuck their shirts in & if the judge speaks to you or you speak to him, you must stand the entire time. yikes.
we all walk downstairs & go into the courtroom. i laughed aloud again on the way in because i saw the judge's name on the door was Lincoln Jenkins. well, each person's name was called out & we had to stand, state our current addresses & bring any issues we had before the court. i was so nervous & when they called my name i did what i was supposed to do & then i was all like "um, your honor? (i felt so lame saying that) i have a letter from my supervisor regarding my time here this week. may i bring it to you or do you want to come get it?" ha. he said "yes maam you may approach the bench" so i rolled up there. he asked me what it said & i told him pretty much that i'm a new employee & i work with special needs kids & it would be detrimental for the children if i miss a week of working with them. he tells me to go back to my bench and then all loud in front of the 30 jurors, "alright ms. boozer is going to be excused this week because her being here would be detrimental for her employer & to her as an employee because of financial hardship." i was like WHAT!? financial hardship!? i didn't say that!!! it was so embarrassing. that's what i get for laughing at his name.
-i had a cpr class & passed with flying colors. we had to learn infants, children, & adults. one girl dropped her baby dummy on the floor & i laughed again. i need to control that better- it's so hard, though.
-a group of friends & i went to see new kids on the block in atlanta. it was literally one of my favorite shows. we all sang & danced our hearts out. i almost teared up when they came out- haaaaa. not because i love them, but because dude, we've been waiting 20 years for that!!!! i never thought i'd get to see my favorite childhood group live & it finally happened. pretty cool. jenn said she teared up during "i'll be loving you forever" and i laughed so hard. the place was sold out & it was the best crowd ever- so into it. the guys did really well, too. they danced, sang, break-danced, etc. & rocked it out. i'm not gonna lie. they sang all their old songs & a bunch of new ones, too. some of the new ones are straight up good, too. seriously. a lot of them are scandalous as all get out, but i like several of them. "single," "dirty dancing," "2 in the morning"- all good. i don't know about "grown man," "sexify my love," and "full service," however. lol.
-i went to see columbia city ballet's Dracula: Ballet with a Bite. soooooooo good. again, scandalous, but i love that thing. i used to go in middle & high school every year the day before halloween. it's so sexy & pretty & fun. i love that ballet. i always wanted to be one of the vampire seductress dancers. typical.
-bon qui qui came out for halloween and oh my goodness. i had so much fun being her for a night. my nails were out of control & my hair curl gelled to the face was the nastiest thing i've ever seen. amazing.
Mellie as Bon Qui Qui
-i'll be missing baumer's last show which is kind-of a bummer because it IS their last show, but honestly, i was there for courage riley, i was there for their 1st show when it was a joke, i was there for 8 bajillion shows after that, so i've had my fair share of some baumer. i'll be filming a scene in the nicholas sparks novel turned to movie, Dear John in Edisto. can't wait!
-i'm excited about homeless for the homeless!
-my hair has me really bored these days. i used to change it up all the time in college, but having headshots that you are supposed to look like at all times has had me stuck with the same thing for a while. i may be doing something different- not too drastic, just spicing it up so i'm not so bored of it. we'll see.
-i'm ready for lydia/copeland on the 19th, manchester on dec. 14, & taking back sunday on dec. 17. hurry uppppp.
