there's a lot more that happened- good & bad, but those are the highlights i've got right now. i grew a lot closer to Jesus this year through some things and God granted me opportunities to share His love & name with all kinds of people. in the end that's all that really matters about this year, but because God loves us so much, He gives us fun & joy & our hearts' desires, too. how good is He?? God's favor was crazy amazing this year & i thank Him for it. i think 2009 is going to blow 2008 out of the water, though. let's see what God does in so fine oh nine. i can't wait!!!
i posted this last year, but it doesn't get old so...
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:18-19
2008 is gone, finished, past. We can't reclaim it or undo it. We can't rest on the things it brought us or dwell on the things it didn't. 2009 is a new start, a new opportunity, so let's grab hold & do something with it. Let's boldly run forward, knowing that God already inhabits the future and promises to provide for us.
Lord God, please help me learn from my mistakes, but not dwell on them. Please help me not rest on my accomplishments from this past year, but use them to further your work in and through me. Please wash off the past & lead me in your paths, helping me see your mighty works this next year. Show me your glory. I deserve nothing, yet you give me everything. Thank you for my many blessings & your unconditional love. I can't wait for this year. In Jesus' holy name, Amen.
