the music in me

tonight a precious little girl with cancer came to watch our dress rehearsal of high school musical 2. she has a tumor pressing on her optic nerve so she can't see well and sat in the very front row. wearing a pink shirt & sporting only a few hairs on her little head she literally had the time of her life. i tried to look down & watch her when i could and saw her singing along with every song, taking pictures with her hot pink camera every 2 seconds, and laughing & bopping in her seat throughout the night.

THAT is why i did this musical...for her & for all the kids that get so much joy out of something that seems so cheesy to us. in the last number a bunch of us run out into the crowd & sing & dance for a minute. of course i went right over to her & she jumped out of her seat so fast to dance with us it wasn't even funny. i literally almost started crying- i had to stop singing & just mouth the words bc i couldn't handle it. what a great gift for me.

here's to doing anything & everything possible to bring joy to all we meet <3 thanks, Jesus, for the gift of love.
