i've been staying with 3 kids while their parents are out of the country for a week. things have been good- we've gone out to dinner some & to the skate park & the movies, etc.- pretty much i'm a totally rad baby-sitter. anyway, over the weekend we decided to go see Bridge to Terabithia.
the 1st grader came in and asked if he could invite a friend. of course i said sure cuz i'm awesome. he got the kid's dad on the phone & we chatted for a bit & he said he'd head over to drop his daughter off for the movie excursion. well, we're hanging out on the skateboards- i'm about to bust my butt- and the dad rolls up in the driveway on his bike. i hear a "hey mellie!" and i definitely almost fall. i turn around and danged if the dad i'd been talking to wasn't Jim "Soni" the drummer from Hootie and the Blowfish. HAAAAAAAAAAAA. i was like, "oh, ok, hey there. did you see me almost fall?" LOL. he was so freakin nice. i love that guy. i wanted to tell him that when i was vacationing in hawaii his band was definitely playing there- of all the places/dates!!- and i totally went to see them. haha. i didn't tell him, though. when i asked his daughter what her favorite music was she said "hannah montana & hootie and the blowfish." haha. love it! i dropped her off at their house after the movie & laughed the rest of the nite at the randomness of my life.
