Thankfully she said she'd help me through everything & I'd learn everything I needed to know over time. I'm still kinda nervous, though. Geez. The fun part was shadowing my friend Jenn Wed & Thurs- I went on all her visits & got to meet some of the kids she works with. They were awesome!! You see alllll kinds of delayed children from Downs kids to autism to just simple speech delays to spina bifida and cerebral palsy. I think one of my kids has webbed fingers so we'll work on fine motor skills until she gets her surgery & then we'll work again afterwards. It's gonna be so fun! I just need to learn everything! I'm excited about it, though.
On one of the visits yesterday waaaay the heck out in chapin we met with a little boy (age 3) who was psychotically obsessed with scooby doo. He had gotten a new mystery machine with all the character dolls & his grandma told us he has a massive crush on daphne. haaaa. He called her "gir" for girl & carried her everywhere- he takes her to school & the other day walked into his classroom kissing her. lol. The teacher was like- well, that's good for his mouth muscles to promote better speech progress. haha. I told his grandma I dressed up as daphne for halloween 2 years ago & that I should roll over there in my costume & surprise him one day. OMG how hilarious.

His grandma was so nice. She had a dog named Rufus who came up to me & let me pet him for a while. She made a point to tell me that the dog never does that with anyone. The little boy also came up to me a lot & even grabbed my face & kissed me- thank God I turned my head in time so he only got the side of my mouth. Too funny. The grandma was like "My goodness, you must have an extremely amazing aura- Rufus came up to you, (child's name) came up to you- I haven't seen that before. Animals and children can sense things, you know. What a special young lady you must be." It made me feel really good- ha. I know auras & stuff are kinda weird, but I knew what she meant & it made my day.
I'm excited about heading to the beach with the wonderful women of Midtown, too. It's gonna be a blast! Oh, this is so random- I got an email from someone I don't know about being on the new Needtobreathe prayer team. She said she'd gotten my name from someone who said I'd be a great asset to the team of 12 & wanted to know if I was interested. I told her sure I would. Again, that made me feel good that someone considered me a prayerful person who they could trust to lift up this band. People keep saying things to make me feel good about myself- it's been nice, especially during this stressful training time where I feel like a total dummy, not understanding a thing. Thanks for encouragement from people I don't even know, God. You are too cool.
Last, I've been really digging this song-
