three years ago when i filed my taxes i was in the "poverty" category. literally, my tax guy told me that. but guess what i did three years ago? and 5 years ago? and last week? used the money & resources i had to tithe, bless people & help family/friends/strangers in need, sponsor a child, buy friends medicine & meals & concert tickets, contribute where i could. it's called giving freely, and it's what God calls us to do. what we have is His anyway.
and do you want to know the funny thing? the more i give away, the more He gives back. it's ridiculous, really.
i don't tell you this to
1) brag on how awesome i am for giving -i'm a total piece of selfish dookey but God loves me anyway & teaches me about being SELFLESS a little bit each day, though i'm still reluctant to listen a lot of the time
i don't tell you this to
2)let you know that giving your money & resources away will make you super wealthy in worldly goods. (it may make you wealthy in joy bc giving is of God)

3) inform you of how rich i am now (um, early intervention specialists aren't exactly rollin in the dough)
BUT i tell you this to let you know that we serve Jehovah Jireh- our PROVIDER. when we do what God tell us to with our money, give to those who need it, tithe, etc. etc., He ALWAYS provides for us. He's done it for me time & time again. I challenge you to tithe, no matter what your income is. I challenge you to meet a need somewhere, no matter what your income is. Just do it.
